Real people, real barriers

Accessibility isn't abstract. Behind every WCAG criterion is a person trying to book a hotel, apply to university, or buy headphones. These stories follow three people as they encounter barriers that most teams build by accident, and show how each one gets caught and fixed.

Three stories, three perspectives

Low vision (macular degeneration)

Maria uses 200% zoom on everything. When a booking form breaks at that zoom level, she can't tell which field she's filling in. She gives up.

Motor disability (keyboard-only navigation)

James navigates entirely with his keyboard. When a cookie popup traps his focus and there's no Escape key handler, the entire site is blocked.

Blind (VoiceOver screen reader)

Amara hears the web through a screen reader. When form fields have no labels, she hears "Edit text, blank" and has to guess what to type.
